You never know what you are going to find in the biology lab. We have lots of interesting plants and a number of snakes, and sometimes a parrot or two. I hope you enjoy being in the lab, there is always something interesting going on. The pictures on this page are from my trips to Costa Rica and Montana and Wyoming.
My Profile: I am Janet Csolak, your Biology Honors teacher. I got my Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and my Master of Science in Biology with a specialization in Animal Behavior from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. I also attended the University of Illinois as a dance major my freshman year and I attended the University of Wyoming at Laramie for one year. So, I consider myself well-rounded.
I live in Webster Groves with my husband, George, and we have 4 children. Kate, the oldest, just turned 30 (yikes, that makes me so much older), is married to Eric, and is my only daughter. She received her BA in Business from Mizzou and her MBA at St. Louis University last December. They have a 9 month old yellow lab named Pippa. Dan, 28, graduated from Missouri State University in Dec. 2013 with a BA in English, specializing in creative writing. He is currently living in Los Angeles hoping to write screenplays. Josh, 25, played soccer at Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois for 2 years and is now attending Montana State University in Bozeman for chemical engineering. And finally, Matt, the baby of my family is 21, and is attending Missouri State University in Springfield. We also have a 3 year old golden retriever named Heidi. You will hear more about my family in class as I use them to tell stories.
